I bought a nitrite test kit 5 months ago and decided to check on the bottle today and the powder is all clumpy and blue. Does this stuff expire in less than 5 months? I only used it for about 2 weeks and it’s been sitting ever since. Bottle closed air tight and everything.

Should be a date on the box, yes it does expire. I wouldn’t use that.

If your tank is cycled then not much need for a nitrite test.

Should be on the top lid of the box. Generally you have a few years but they only last me like 2 months or so.

If any water got into them its a different story

Some shops sell with a short use by date, always worth checking when buying if you can.
Eitther it was old stock when you bought it or water got in. You normally get 1-2 years on them if I remember rightly.
