Salinity and zoa’s

Once you have the test results then you will have a guide. I was like .01 so I added 4 drops. I then added 2 drops next day for a total of six. Waited over night and retested and was .06. And the zoas openned up .... I dose iodine once a week with two drops total. I am going to test today my iodine tank level and fresh fritz salt water and will post the results. When you use that test kit you must temperature aquamate the reference sample. Just follow directions. Also, the jugs I use for water changes are attached.

Thanks man you’ve been super helpful. I ordered the test kits just have to wait to get them now. The gallon a day water change is a great idea! I might just have to start doing it as well.

My test results.
Tank specific gravity is 1.026
Tank Iodine test is .06 ppm

Fritz specific gravity is 1.026
Fritz iodine is .05 to .06 ppm

Conclusion for my tank: I replace about 7 gallons a week of fritz salt. Once I got my tank iodine level from .01 to .06 last summer, only 2 drops of brightwell iodine is needed to sustain. 05 or .06 ppm. Been dosing iodine 2 drops per week since August 2019.

The fritz salt does indicates the correct iodine trace level found in the ocean. Although, this is the first time I have tested a batch of fresh fritz salt for iodine.
