Im new to saltwater, and im looking for a salinity checker that indont have yo guess myself using it. Recommendation on brand.

You can buy hydrometers for about £1-£5, refractometer from about £15 upwards, Hanna checkers from about £60 upwards, there are loads that offer similar results, I would worry more about buying proper testing kits for water chemistry, as salt level is easy to adjust :)

This one

Dont get a hydrometer, they can be very inaccurate.
Often times hydrometers are the more accurate measuring tool… it just needs to be a floating hydrometer. I personally can’t image anyone using a swing arm hydrometer anymore, although I’m sure there are some people that do.

I also recommend both a refractometer AND Hanna Salinity Tester HI98319.

I really like my Hanna digital salinity tester (HI98319) but sounds like some bad ones make it to market.
*I use Randy's DIY EC salinity standard for calibration

I use Tropic Marin Precision Hydrometer for validation but they're BIG so easiest to use in a 500 mL cylinder.

Ironically, cheapie Coral Life swing arm hydrometer matches both well,,, but maybe I was lucky.

*personally, don't like having to eyeball the visual refractometers but I know people use them.

I have the Hanna tester, but i've had some issues with it recently.

I wanted to buy a backup refractometer, and get another Hanna tester.
I purchased the Veegee STX-3

I'm so amazed by the ease of use of this thing that I've decided to use it as my main way to measure salinity, and will not get another electronic tester.

IMO it's worth the price tag, easy to calibrate and has ATC one of the best pieces of equipment I bought.
I have it, the Hanna conductivity pen, and an optical refractometer and unless I’m wanting to double check it’s results the Milwaukee is the only one I use.

I actually hate the Hanna conductivity pen that has been recommended on here. Mine never gives me a consistent reading, but I bought it used so it could just be that mine is defective.
