My fishes r looking good but coralline patches has started to turn white so may be right reading

Yup, turning white is not good. You are right. Some how you added to much pure water. Either lost salt water and didn't know it(should be a puddle somewhere) and added pure water, or, you didn't keep track where the sump level should be and added to much pure water.

Hmm I had started to add pure water coz of detritus problem that can be an issue lfs is checking salinity and it is weird that his hydrometer showing less than mine. I'll try to use mix of pure and tap water

By pure water I mean no salt added. Don't use tap water in the tank.

Lower than mine 1.012

If he is still there, mix a gallon of water to salt to 35ppt.
Then mark your hydrometer.

We hv checked salinity of my qt(which has a demsel) and it is reading 1.024.

You check it with yours and mark the hydrometer where the pointer is. This will be your 1.024

I try to stay between 1.024/1.026
You can go lower for fish only but coralline will suffer.
