Salinity: High to Low, vs Low to High

Which scenario is more stressful for a tank's inhabitants: Going from a low salinity to high, or high salinity to low?

Either way can cause stress if it varies alot.
What do you consider high vs low?
Most lfs run different sg levels.
I just float and add and have not seen an issue.

For fish raising salinity fast is more stressful than lowering it.

Depends to what extreme you are going in either direction. High Salinity in fish causes fish bladder issues and other medical conditons.

Low Salinity is a quick kill of corals - All - Soft, LPS, SPS
