Got two maxima in a delivery today, sg in the bag is 1.032 and my tank is 1.026. Looks like ive got a long slow drip to watch today.
Any advice or special considerations while i acclimate them?
Is this common? I got them from pacific east

That’s pretty high. Are you able to double check with a different testing method just to make sure?

I used a freshly calibrated refractometer. But i will pull out the old hydrometer.

Also, at least with fish, going from higher to lower salinity is much easier on the fish. Clams could be different though, I don’t know.

I got a pair of clowns from them also, and the sg is 1.027 in there. Not worried about that

Were they both ship the same as far as packaging?
Yes, all in the same box. Probably clams and fish are from different sytems. Also got a few corals and a nem. Those were all 1.026
Packing was all very nice and 2 heat packs still warm. Clams look great. Everything looks great. Just concerned about the salinity change during acclimation
