My salinity has droppedon my 40 gallon breeder. I’m guessing as my tank has matured my readings were inaccurate. It’s not dangerously low or anything (1.21-1.22). Im going to remove 5 gallons and make a fresh batch of Salt water with Reef Crystals. My question is, what salinity would the 5 gallons need to be to bring up the 40 total gallons to 1.24-1.25

Have no idea but raising salt too quick not good. Not that you’re raising it that much.
Would add new saltwater with top off til you get it up where you want.
Skimmer is a salt sucker and bring salt level down over time.

Not sure on the math .

I raise my salinity by adding salt water as top off. Slow and steady. Works great.

You’d need to mix 5 gallons to about 1.040; but I agree it’s better done in increments.

+1 on the above.

Same as above. Make water changes using the salinity you want at end. Eventually you’ll get to your target. You won’t notice much change at first since you’re only changing 5%-ish at a time
