New to this. I have a salinity of 1.021 SG. I would like to raise it to 1.026. Should i wait till water evaporates and raises the salinity to 1.026 and just top off with fresh RODI water? Or should i wait till it evaporates to 1.026 and add back exactly 1.026 to fill the tank to desired level?

Whichever way you do it slowly. I’ve learned a hard lesson about changing temperature to quickly.
I’m sure a far more experienced reefer will chime in with better advice.

Waiting for evaporation to get salinity to 1.026 with current 1.021 will probably be a lot of water leaving the tank. I'd suggest just doing regular top-offs with saltwater so you're raising to 1.026 over the course of a month. The key is doing it very slowly. Big jumps aren't good for fish or corals. Maybe start with a target of 1.024 and see where you want to go from there.

If you wait for 1.026 and top-off with RODI, that'll just drop you right back to 1.021.

All depends on what you have in the tank for corals. I would and have done this before when my tank was very new. I let it drop to desired range on its own and just added saltwater to desired level. But it was not as low as yours so might want to put saltwater in your top off for now. But do it slow

+1 for what kryptonian said, top off with saltwater until at desired salinity.
Do you have ato, move the pump from ro water to saltwater.

So i will mix A little bit of rodi saltwater at about 1.024 once every few days and top it off untill i reach about 1.024/1.026? Am i correct?

I typical mix water in a 2 gal pail at 1.027, and then add a cup every half hour until SG is reached in my situation like this

Follow your normal top off schedule, just use saltwater.
Check salinty before topping off.
Switch back to ro for top off when desired salinity is reached.
