The salinity in my tank is off the charts! Scary levels. I have no idea how this happened. I've already lost a shrimp and I'm trying to fix this problem before it gets worse. I've been adding freshwater but it only seems to be a short term fix. Help please.

As water evaporates the salinity will go up. This is inevitable. You need to find the right SG and top off your tank with freshwater water each day. Just as an example, find the right salinity and draw a mark on the side of your tank. Tomorrow at the same time the water level will be down, but you need to add some freshwater to the tank until the water level is even with the mark again. An ATO is definitely something to think about. GL.

Take out more % of water then, add more pure water. It'll come down.

What are your levels?
How are you measuring them?

This is a bit of a concern

Moved thread to current location, should get more replies here.

Make sure you're topping off with only fresh water. Salt doesn't evaporate so only fresh water should replace evaporated amounts
