apex doesnt actually measure salinity. it measures the conductivity, so this is probably why it changes with heat, or at least, thats my assumption. also, since it is known that electrical current can interrupt the readings, if the heater power cord is near the salinity probe wire, maybe thats the cause
This is the correct answer to what you are seeing in your Apex graph. Mine finally bugged me enough that I recalibrated the other day with the temp compensation set at 2.2% and same thing, minimized the swings I would see when the heater was kicking on.On your salinity probe you can enable the TC (temperature correction) feature. It does require you to recalibrate the probe, however. I use a value of 2.1 and it seems to flatten my curves on my minor fluctuations.
