Both my tanks are running this number. Sound about right?

1.025 works. I prefer 1.026, but you're fine.
 
Cool.. next question. I've had this tank since christmas st up with the overflow under water. Some say I should cut the pipe so the water can flow in freely. Thoughts?

Not much difference but you do get the force of the water in the sump creating a little back pressure, cutting a 45-degree at the end of the pipe mitigates that somewhat and help it flow better.
