Salinty levels

hey guys

Just a quick question and sorry if this subject has been covered already before!!!!

But i know that the target for a reef tank salinity is 1.025

Which is where i keep my tank at but my questions is where do you guys keep your salinity at? do you keep it at at the same or higher lower? if so have you always kept it at the same or played with abit ect just out of interest guys!!!

Although if skimmer is running wet , the ato will dump more rodi water diluting the salinity a little .
When making new saltwater I’ll mix it at 1.025

sometimes I’ll drip a bucket of higher salinity water if it falls to 1.023 - 1.024

with this in mind then what is better wet skimming? or dry skimming? i am currently running wet skim.

I don’t think there is one better than the other .
but I typically go somewhere in the middle .
not too wet , but I want some skimmate ..
not black , but not yellowish brown either .

if if smells like sewage when emptying , it’s perfect

sorry buddy i didnt see this, but yeah my skimmer generally smells like egg or as you say sewage

i am only running a 90 litre tank at the moment do plan on upgrading eventually but gonna add a sump to current tank soon, just found out am gonna be a daddy so have to rein the belt in abit lol
