I have Always loved Garf.
Some complain the web site is from the 90’s, and it is. (If the net could smell of old books, like a library )
But it’s filled with pages and pages of experience and exitment and discovery of two very passionate reefers.
Sally Jo and Leroy Headlle.
Leroy passed away a number of years ago. The labs and corals fell to Sally Jo and the family , and a few close friends but kind of languished.
They’ve made kind of a comeback , got some new blood in helping with the Lab and offering some pretty cool coral packs and the famous Garf grunge, naturally. And the shipping has it appears , been updated to more modern rates and practices. (Kids, shipping used to be a PAIN, almost as bad as dial up )
In the past few months I’ve had the amazing opportunity to chit chit chat with Sally Jo and see the tanks that , along with a few other major influences , really influenced the way I think about reefkeeping. Bugs bacteria , biodiversity , rock and sand.
I’m not a huge Facebook fan overall , but wow, it does open up some amazing opportunities to get to know some folks you usually only get to read about from time to time.
Well for the last couple weeks, Sally Jo has been featuring her new favorite pet. Alex.

She also seems to have a mystery to solve , if you want to help her out.
