I just got a new Sally lightfoot crab in my new tank. I'm just wondering if there is any supplement food I can give them to ensure it is nice and full so that it won't eat my clownfish.

Also, what are some other recommendations for aquarium-bed animals that would be a good fit to live with the Sally lightfoot crab? I am thinking about more crabs or shrimps, but I am open to other suggestions too.

I don’t feed my cleaning crew directly. They are supposed to scavenge their meals and keep busy at picking up after the fishies.

If you want to be certain that Sally is well fed I would recommend pellet food. Once a claw has a grasp on a pellet the fish can’t easily bite it away from them.

There are all kinds of pellets, I would encourage you to read the contents and pick something low in meat. Hikari used to make a fresh water algae/vegetable pellet that was fairly large that might be easier to use?
Other tank mates, I don’t know what Sally Lightfoots tolerate? I had one for a year and forgot it was in the tank until I tore it down. They are beautiful creatures and cryptic ime. I hope yours will roam about where you can see it. They are fun to watch as they move about.
