Salt creep, flick back in tank or remove

Just curious as to what everyone else does. If I see it I just flick it back in the tank or sump. Is that bad?

i usually wipe it off with a damp paper towel ... rarely will i flick it back in the tank (if i do, i make sure there’s only sand or live rock directly underneath. i believe the concentrated salt can burn corals).

I try to remove it most of the time. I figure it's got dust and other things like that which has settled on it.

But I doubt overall it matters much in terms of water quality. My anemone hates if I accidentally knock a piece in.

When I do wipe downs, the excess is usually just stuck back in the tank. No need to waste salt. Like Phycodurus said, there are some who think that the salt can burn corals/fish. I don't have that many corals, and my fish are relatively smart, so it's not something I worry about.

I do both actually.
My DT gets very little salt creep build-up and I wipe that off with a damp cloth or paper towel. The sump has most of my salt creep bit no livestock so I will knock it off into the sump.
I would not want chunks of salt falling onto any livestock.
