Planning a 65 fowlr...live rock, school of chromies, perhaps a butterfly...no corals... maybe an anemone with perculas...not sure...Wondering if I need premium reef salt for this tank...currently using Red Sea Coral Pro for my 10 reef. With or without the anemone, will more standard salt be just as good with the live rock and fish?...Thanks...$$ is the object...Ken:confused:

Instant Ocean or RC will be fine, even if you end up going the coral route.

I use regular IO for my reef, always has worked great for me...especially when ive seen comparitive numbers for reef crystals. Almost seems like a rip off

I use regular IO as well. IMO, stay away from the "reef" salts. They mix much less consistently and it's much easier to be stable with regular salts like IO and dose. Also, changing salts is not a big deal. Just do water changes less then 10%. So if you want to use something different later it's no big deal.

You see...for my 10fusion, I do not dose...so the Red Sea coral mix seems to keep things just right...I will use the IO for my fowlr...much cheaper...Thanks...
