Does anybody put salt in their auto top off container? If so what level do you keep it at? My 165 tank is going through a 10g container about every 3 to 4 days. I want to keep my salinity in check as much as possible. Any help is appreciated!

I also do 10 percent water changes every week, but as much RO/DI water it goes through it affects the salinty a little.

if you are doing a weekly water change i dont think you will have that much salinity change, maybe if you are doing wet skimming and have a lot of skimmate coming out daily i could see maybe adding some salt almost like a daily water change.

I wouldn't put salt in the ATO unless you are using it for a short period of time to slowly bring up salinity. There is some effect on salinity from skimming, dosing, evaporation over long periods of time but what ever evaporates out is only fresh water and should be replaced with fresh water only.
