Salt Issues: Fritz RPM

Hopefully this is a quickie.

Getting to the end of my Fritz RPM (blue box). Been open about 4 months. Latest batch mixed to 4.5 alkalinity by Salifert and Red Sea, 1.026 sg by calibrated refractometer. Yes I mixed the box when I got it.

Before I switch brands, did I do anything wrong? Is Fritz still having quality control issues?

Why do people use anything besides IO? Never any issues

I’m guessing that the lack of response to this thread other than a snide remark means that a) this issue has been brought up a million times already or b) I’m dumb.

Either way I switched to Tropic Marin lol.

so you gave up on Fritz? i was thinking of switching to them... I heard someone else complain that the alk was sky high after mixing?

I was having an ALK problem with HW salt mixing at like 6-6.5 (Salifert and Red Sea). Then I switch to Fritz, and it mixes a bit higher, but still lower than the target ALK, so I am wondering if it is something to do with my mixing process/environment/container/I dunno. I usually have to add baking soda to bring salt up to 8-8.5.
