Which salt mix you guys are using? Which one's better for a coral/fish tank? I have been using red sea coral pro but a little bit expensive for a small bucket (55Gal). Im trying to find a cheap one on ebay/amazon but as good as the coral pro.

This is one of those questions where you'll have 10 different people say they all prefer different brands. I personally use the regular aquaforest salt. Why did I get it? Because it was a good deal and had free shipping on Amazon lol. I haven't had any issues with it and I've had it for probably three months. If any levels get to low I just dose a little bit to the tank. I hardly ever have to. If you're looking for a mix of salt that has higher alk and calcium levels you could go for the instant ocean reef crystals. Those are pretty cheap.

I have seen people have tremendous success using any number of salt mixes. Instant Ocean is one of the biggest volume sellers. But there are many brands that are just as good if not slightly better. Many reefers start with a salt and dose it to achieve the Ca, ALK, and Mg levels they want so what they start with is not that important.

Im using coral pro red sea, didn't have to dose my aquarium and feed my coral. But its a bit expensive, im looking for a salt that is similar like coral pro but cheaper. I dont want to dose ...

i use instant ocean reef salt the orange bucket. been using it for over a year and love it!

+1 @ndz98 , everyone's going to have different opinions. This is relevant to your coral selection and volume, among other things. If you didn't have to dose before, my assumption is you're primarily fish only, softies, few stony corals. If thats the case then Red Sea Coral Pro was the wrong choice from the start. You could easily use a cheaper salt. However, keep in mind, if you start adding more stony corals, or when those stony corals start growing out, your water demands will rise and you may need to dose with the cheaper salt.

Ok chef

I've used a lot of different salt mixes. I would suggest researching a little bit to find out which Salt matches the same parameters of your tank. I now use regular red sea salt. when mixed KH is at 8 same as my tank ph is 2-4 same as my tank calcium and magnesium are the same as my tank. All the other salts I used bumped the KH up pretty high.

None, I switch for RS Coral pro to Aquaforest reef salt and dose the 1+2+3 55.1 lbs for $54 I have been very happy with the product. The Aquaforest alk is also lower then the RS. I Change between 8 and 10% water weekly. As @CodyRVA stated everyone has the own thing.
