Some moisture got into my bucket of salt mix and made it into a big salt rock. I broke it up and tried to get it back to its original consistency, but its still pretty chunky. Is my salt worth using still or should i throw it out? I did do a wc with it and didn't see any bad effects. Just curious if the moisture may have altered the mix and could eventually make it go bad.

I have been using clumped mix for years. Brake it up, it's not that hard.

Should be good to use.

It's a risk. When the salt mix gets wet, there may be unwanted chemical reactions within the solidified salt. That's why the general advice is to add salt to water and not water to salt. Anyhow, it's only a risk, not a given. My tank has been running for 3 years, full of coral, and I would rather lose a bucket of chunky salt than risk my tank. It's up to you.

I have a brand new bucket of reef crystals that has been in storage for a few years. It has gotten hard as well. Do you guys think its still good to use? Does salt or trace elements expire?
