So I'm planning an upgrade to a larger tank in the near future, and currently have a 20 gallon tank, the fish, and the few corals/ inverts I own, plan to make the transfer, that aside, the real I guess dilemma I'm having is, whether to continue to use Red Sea Coral pro with the new tank, I plan to be stocking many more corals, but my main concern is about if I keep using it in the new tank how hard will it be to manage the dosing (if i get to the point where water changes are not enough). Or would it be easier and/or more beneficial to switch to a more regular salt mix like Fritz rpm, or the red sea salt mix. and plan for having to dose at an earlier stage ?

If you stick with the Coral Pro with the 20g tank size, you can get away with minimal dosing and take a look at the Red Sea ABC+ skeletal elements which is good to use with Coral Pro to top up the levels between water changes and is an easy way for many people to run a successful reef tank up to around 90g.

Ultimately you still need to ‘adjust’ the levels of each element, so if your looking at a larger tank, your will almost certainly need to dose separately which will be much easier once you get the hang of it.

I personally use the Red Sea Standard salt now, with full auto dosing, but I did 12 months with Coral Pro and ran the higher parameters.

I'm goign to continue on my 20g with it, but planning and upgrade and looking to using a "standard salt" either redsea, or fritz rpm, I would rather be able to dose more if I had to

IF YOU HAD TO TAKE A REEFING EXAM, WOULD YOU PASS?
