Salt mix dKH...should I lower from 9.2?

When I do a 20% water change with IO RC, tank alk is 9.2. Any real benefit from having that high or should I drop the dKH in the mix before water change to get it 8.0-8.5?

Any issues running it at 9.2? Thanks in advance

If your tank is at 9.2, presumably your IORC mixes up at least 10-13 dkH. If it's to the higher end, then I'd certainly try to lower the alk if the tank has SPS in it. Let's say you changed 20% with new saltwater at 13dKh. With a difference of 4 you'd effectively raise your tank's dKh by 0.8 in one water change, taking your tank to around 10.

I use RS pro. It mixes at 11.5. Use RS ABC. Always at 11.5

Alk after the water change is 9.2. It's been pretty consistent for me

Ahh misread the intro. 9.2 isn't crazy high. I just ran into SPS tip burn when my nutrients bottom out when it was 10 or higher.

SPS can be kept 10 or higher, but they need enough nitrogen/phosphorus and flow. I have sps at 12.5 ish
