I have live rock but no corals and fish. Do I need to use Red Sea coral pro or would Red Sea work just as well? Considering trying one of those or Kent marine. Anyone tried both? Want something that mixes well no brown gunk and no silicates or phosphates.

Most of the big brand ones are good. I suggest you check what parameters each would mix to. For some people, I believe the alk on the coral pro is a bit too high for what they like. I hear Fritz Reef Pro Mix salt is fantastic and if I ever get an RODI unit to mix my own saltwater I will probably either use the Fritz RPM or Red Sea Coral Pro.

Coralife salt here for years and years. Works well with my tanks.
