Hello everyone,

I've noticed that when I mix Fritz Pro Reef mix no matter how I mix it I always get a high alkalinity. From 10.5 to 11. I don't understand why I know mixing is not that complicated. I try TMRP and got a better mix all the time with no issues. ALK 8. Maybe I'm overlooking something or doing something wrong can someone please help me or guide me with this. And yes this is my second box that I brought to see if there's a difference and it comes out to be the same.

Possibly inaccurate testing? I use fritz and get an alk of around 8.5.

would go to the lfs and get the water checked.
You would think that would be the case but no matter what two different batches I did it one day one read 11.5 and other at 10.5

May I ask how do you mix your salt
yeah…. Um I stick my hand in the bucket and swoosh it around for a few minutes. I am for sure biased in Fritz’s favor though, as I did just spend another $80 on a box of salt from them.

curious to see if others have had this same issue.

What I do is get the water up to temp. Slowly add the salt with a return pump to mix it in a heater.

I did that but still high alk. I even took a small batch to a local selfish store and got the same issue.
