Salt particles everywhere in sump?

I found these mysterious white salt particles covering everything in my sump... They are on the aquarium sump doors too, but I think thats because when I clean the aquarium a few drops roll down it that I didnt notice. Inside the sump is a mystery however. I read about salt creep, could that be it? The aquariums almost a year old. The weird thing is that it appeared all of a sudden... One day it was fine (I checked the sump to add water to my ATO) then the next it was covered in salt particles, and to add to that my heater was opened up and the wires were all over the place. I dont know what could have happened, any idea about the salt particles?

You do realize without a picture what the heck is anyone supposed to do guess maybe it’s snow or dandruff

um sorry but I cleaned it obviously... My parents got really mad the salt was everywhere so I had to clean it right away. why would there be snow in my sump..? I'm almost certain it is salt...

pretty sure its salt creep you're seeing. Could also be salt spray from microbubbles bursting in the sump area. Pretty normal for a saltwater tank. Comes with the territory.

Yes, the water was bubbling for a few days

sounds like water splashing. since the salt cant evaporate like the water, it stays behind. might just be skimmers and bubbles
