Salt questions HELP!!

So I started using instant ocean salt that wasn’t for corals but now I bought Reef crystals from instant ocean that is for corals I currently have 2 corals in with that salt, so what should I do should I do a large wager change so it could change the salt or what should I do my tank is a 13.5g.

Hi the only difference you need to worry about is reef crystals has higher Alk and calcium so if u mix them like I do sometimes you need to adjust your calc and Alk dosing thx

I don’t think I understand you mix reef crystals and the regular salt ?

To switch to reef Crystal's 5% percent water and increase from there

Honestly, I don’t think it makes that much of a difference. I’d just continue to do your normal water changes and use up the old salt and then continue to do your normal water change routine and begin using the new salt.

Or throw the old salt away and just start doing your normal water change routine with the new salt.

What sort of corals are you talking about? So long as you’re not dealing with SPS, you’ll be just fine - especially if you’re dealing with beginner corals.

5 percent next water change 10 percent

The diffrence is the salt base water parameters, the reef crystals has higher alk,and cal, and mag, so in a new system with few coral and fish its not gonna be a traumatic deal,

ya the params are up there I tested for my calcium today with the API calcium test kit but omg it’s so confusing !!!
