What kinda salt mix do y'all use? I picked up some instant ocean reef crystals. Is this a good quality salt mix? Not much variety in my town bc all I have is petco & petsmart.

Works fine. There are others that mix faster and don't leave as much residue in a mixing container if left a bit, but it is a fine salt.

HW Marinemix. Just switched from redsea pro and also started making my own RODI. I think my flower pot looked like it was opening up more after the switch. Either one thing or a combination but it looked better. Which made me happy since I read online flowerpot corals tend to die in under a years time.

I order online. :)

I am using Fritz RPM.

Used regular IO for years and years. You just can't beat the price and stable from batch to batch.

Got lazy
and switched to the RPM because it mixes to my reefs parameters right out of the gate :)

It you want IO or RC try Petsolution's or Dr Foster's & Smith's. They always have the best prices.

I'm getting the RPM from Premium Aquatics. If you find it on ebay your can get it from PA with free shipping on ebay. :D

Mixing fast is not that big of a deal to me but the RPM is crystal clear in 20min.

Thanks y'all! Guess I'll go through this bucket and see how it pans out. If I like I guess I'll stick with it and if I don't I'll try another one
