for many many years, i have been using reef crystals, lately the price has gone up, so i have been kicking around switching salt to something better, what do you use and why, what advantages of the different salts have you found. my reef is a 28 jbj, with frogspawns, blastos, and a leather ive had for 25 years, i dont change things up, so i want to make sure that if i switch it will be beneficial to my livestock. thank you in advance

I live in the SF Bay Area and I am close enough to the Pacific that most of the local fish stores offer filtered ocean water. It costs $1 a gallon. Kinda pricey but I don't have to have an R/O set up and no mixing station. Salinity is always good and there is little to no variations.
Cheers! Mark

I use Aquaforest reef salt. The parameters are pretty steady and my systems over all looks and heath were better.

I used Red Sea coral pro but am currently in the process of swapping to regular Red Sea salt because the alkalinity in coral pro is really high at 1.025sg

i was looking at coral pro, fauna marin, wish i could do seawater, but in michigan its not so easy

I use Kents Marine and its fairly affordable and keeps my corals happy. I think it is very similar to Red Sea Coral Pro, just not as much alk at 1.025, which I believe is more appropriate for LPS dominate nano reefs.
