Salt vs crystals

Is there a difference between salt and crystals? Petco had crystals on clearance for $2 a box so I grabbed a few. Box was dented

Reef crystals I'm assuming. It has higher alk,cal, and mag is meant to be for reef instead of fish only.

that works for me, as I am doing reef.. I am not even sure if I want to add fish. Just corals and inverts. Thanks! Money well spent, then!

Reef crystals contain more alk, cal, mag. That's what I use in my mixed reef tank.

Just to be perfectly clear. "Crystals" can refer to anything and can mean anything and can have any composition. "Reef Crystals" is a brand name, made by Instant Ocean, and Reef Crystals specifically has higher alk, calcium and magnesium relative to Instant Ocean salt. This is what it looks like:
