Hi Everyone,

New to this forum and looking for some advice. I started up a reef tank about two months ago and added a few LPS corals along with 2 clownfish & a goby about 2 weeks ago. I have a 25 gallon JBJ all in one tank. Within the past 2 days all 3 of the fish passed away and I'm at a bit of a loss. No Nitrate, Nitrite, Ammonia were detectible when I tested this morning. Salt is 35.5, ph 8, temperature is 78F. I thought it might have been the dissolved oxygen content but that is also in range. When I purchased the corals I also completed a dip as well. Any suggestions on what to do? Thanks in advance for the help!

I assume the tank was cycled properly, with the presence of ammonia, unless it was from the fish death, but in a system of that size I would do a water change and remove the ammonia problem

There are so many variables in these situations, it could simply be the quality of the live stock (how they were caught and cared for before you purchased them)

Welcome to Reef2Reef as well.

adding 3 fish at once to a brand new Small tank is an error. You should add one at time, wait a couple weeks, then add another. It gives the biofilter time to build up after each addition. It also gives you a chance to monitor and adjust if required, and if you lose a fish you lose only one instead of three.
