Looking for ideas on what might be going on, I constantly get a musty odor and brown slime / sand in my newly mixed saltwater, even after power washing the container, cleaning the heater and boiling the pump to kill off a bacteria if present. This is my brute after just 3, 40g mixes. I am using redsea salt, normal? thoughts or ideas? Thanks. My RODI topoff right next to it doesn't have the issue.

I use coral pro and haven't had that issue. I've seen lots of posts about various salts leaving a brown crud.

This is odd, you are definitely getting 0 tds out of your RO unit right?
I had a slime build up when I kept my water outside in NC, but I used it anyway for years.

Most salts will leave a residue upon mixing. Elevated levels allow precipitation and I believe the bags indicate they add vitamins or aminos to the salt mix which can attribute to the residue.

Plus many brands add 'clay' to help keep it from turning into a brick in the bucket, hence the brown stuff.
