Ok I'm waiting for my 50 gallon cube to come in and have pulled all my live rock out of my tank and put in a tube of saltwater in the garage. Some of the rock I added has been out for a few weeks so I added that back into the water to cure for a week or so. Reason why I took my rock out was I did a dip on it to try to remove any unwanted pests so I can have a for the most part clean tank. Ok now to the question can I use the salt water that has my live rock in it and put in my new tank or would it have bad effects if I do. I just don't want to buy the natures ocean if I don't have to. I would normally let the tank cycle but Iv sold my old tank and they want my old tank this weekend. I will be using my tank water that's in my 38 gallon which has pretty much 30+ gallons of good water in it. Thanks for any help.

I would not use the rock water. If you put dry rock in there was gonna be some die off that cycled and potentially could have high nitrates. I would suggest looking into getting yourself a rodi unit and a bucket of quality salt to mix yourself. Much cheaper in the long run.

Spectrapure.com has refurbished units they sell for $125 and are quality units. Just doesn't come with all the bells and whistles

I have a system already. The dry rock I put I. Was only about 5 pounds. The rest of the rock is already cured just put in a hold place to make it easier to change my tank over.

Test the water before using it. If by chance your just using all this as a starter for your new tank, then go ahead, it won't hurt anything, as long as you didn't put any chems into it you should be just fine.

Well originally I was just going to throw the salt water out but got to thinking if I could use it to fill up the new tank. Now putting any chemically in it just reef crystals and my live rock. That I pulled out of the tank on Saturday. Has a few small pieces laying around so I put those in it along with some barnacle.
