Hello !
Yesterday I went and bought some salt water at a professional store near my house and almost filled up my new fish tank. I also added my live rock yesterday.
Sadly I didn't have enough water to fill it completely and im scared that if it goes any lower (lower than the tube in the middle (biorb Life tank) it can break something so my question is :
Since the store where I bought my water yesterday is closed, am I able to add salt water from another store to fill completely my new aquarium?
Should I instead leave it as it is and wait for water change ? or should I fill it up with fresh water instead?
Help me lol
THANKS :)

Salt water from any store will not effect it, however. Check salinity as lfs usually keep it low. Also you can easily mix your own with the proper stuff. If somehow a pump were to run dry it will destroy it. Also be sure to use fresh water for top off when it evaporates, not salt

depends on what your salinity (or specific gravity) is.

But basically if you use freshwater you will dilute the salt so it would be best to mix new or wait until the store is open.

IMHO you also need to get a specific gravity or salinity tester. It really is one of the most basic tools for marine tanks.

You also might want to check out macro algae and use that in starting your tank.

but that's just me and my .02

BTW the same idea (with reverse results) also applies to replacing water lost from evaporation.

There you need to use freshwater as only water evaporates not the salt. Using saltwater for evaporation will create a rise in salinity.

just a thought.
