Hi, I purchased some pre mixed salt water from my LFS around 7 days ago. It’s been in a sealed container. No heater or water movement.

If I bring this up to temp is it ok to be used on a 10% water change?

Thanks
Josh

If the salinity matches the salinity you wish to keep in your tank :upside-down-face: Do you have a way of measuring it?

I run my tank as 1.026 SG.

Yes, I have a tool to measure the salinity. My main concern was the amount of time it’s been stood still. All will be fine?

It will be fine, just make sure it's properly mixed up before using it :upside-down-face:

There may be some debris in the bottom depending on what salt mix your LFS uses. This is normal, try and stay clear of it though. (Its not dangerous, just a bit messy!)

Are you considering a small RO unit?

I can see you're UK based :upside-down-face: Osmotics.co.uk sells really good RO units, might make it easier and cheaper for you in the long run..

My AWC uses water that's been standing sometimes three or four weeks. I have not come into any problems yet and I've been doing this for a couple years.

I mix my salt in a 77 gallon barrel and let it sit for sometimes a month before it is all used up. As long as its sealed to limit evaporation you should be fine. You may have elements that precipitate out and your alkalinity may drop over time. Different salt brands will store better than others long term.

BRS has some good videos about storing salt from different manufacturers.
