hi my name dave im new to marine fish ive done all the reading about setting up a marine tank . I will not be using a sump I will be using a canister filter with wool and rowphouse .I would like to know what salt to use crystals or normal salt like tropic marine salt pro thak you ps I live in the uk

I use Instant Ocean. If you're going to have a fish only tank you can use regular I/O salt mix. If you're going to have corals you would use their ReefCrystals. Everyone in this hobby has their own favorite salt mix though.

Are you doing a reef? If so you might want to reconsider using a canister filter. There are many great salts out there that have what you need. I use reefers best but it is not cheap.

If you're going to keep a reef then I would suggest using a reef salt.
