I use instant ocean reef salt but I was just wondering what’s the best reed salt. Im willing to go the extra 100 miles.

IO is great, no need to change unless you are looking for a salt that mixes to different parameters. That being said, I consider the Red Sea salts to be high quality.

Personally...i like esv bionic because theres no settling of materials in the bucket as you mix all components separately. And i can have water ready in an hour or so and dont have to wait 24 hours for it to mix. I also like that i can adjust it to my set parameter.

Tht salt sound really good. Ty.

I have only good things to say about iQuatics salt but not sure if it's available outside UK (not sure where you're located). They do refill bags for their buckets which is a nice touch.

Many successful reefers both hobbyists and commercial guys have used and still do use IO very successfully.

I am currently using H2Ocean, and I like it, but will be switching to IO for 2 reasons, its 1/2 the price, and more readily available, tired of running low on salt and finding there is a 2-3 week back order that may or may not arrive on a certain date, IO is carried everywhere.

I mix OC reef crystals and Red Sea blue bucket. Honestly I don’t think there is one better than another. Just find one where the parameters match what you want your tank to be. Best of luck!

If I was going to switch from IO I'd switch back to Tropic Marin Pro. Pricy but it's the only Pharmaceutical grade salt out on the market.

+1...ESV, mixes clean and ready to go.
I pre-measure the components into 60g amounts to save time when I need to do a water change.

Over the years I've tried pretty much every brand out there. Other than usually minor differences in parameters for the big 3 (Ca, Alk, Mg) they all seem to be fairly equal. I buy whatever is on sale or that I can get the cheapest when I order it. Usually IO/IORC.

Red sea coral pro or reef Crystals will serve you well.
Consider places such as Fosters and smith.com who will ship free after $19 and you can save the long drive.

I had used this for a long time love it mixes clear the whole way, but due to availability in my are I use aquavitro salinity anhydrous salt mix mixes cloudy halftime clears in tank batch specific quality labels. Manufacturer meets all claims and surpasses them.

and they send off to 3rd party lab for Analysis. Every time I mix 1 gallon to 1/2 cup and I get 1.026 every time.
