Hello all, I’m all out of salt, but I accidentally threw away the bag without taking a picture of the name. It was either coral life or instant ocean. Are there any big differences between the two? Most likely would go with instant ocean.

Good advice from James . if going to a different salt just do small water changes instead of one big one ,should be fine. In my experience. test the new water & the tank water is there going to be a big difference? Also nothing wrong with good Ole Instant ocean .

+1 to above. keep you changes at 10-20% and you should be fine. There are some differences, but none should be drastic. Always better to err on the side of safety though.

Only way I can afford my giant water changes is with IO, haha.

If you bought the salt from a LFS and used a VISA, MasterCard or AMEX, look at your bank statements for the month you purchased it in and see how much you paid.

Regular IO is the cheaper of the two and you can call the store to see if the price you paid matches what they charge for either IO or reef crystals.
