Wondering what everyone uses for salt in there aquarium. I’m using salinity haven’t had a problem besides hard to find sometimes. Lookin to switch. Any ideas on what brand to go to and will it cause problems switching salt ?

I actually tested the Stability for Seachem before it was on the market and used it for several years but found it really hard to mix.

Went back to Tropic Marin, then Tropic Marin Pro and switching back to Tropic Marin Classic next week.

You'll get several responses on salts. I like many salts from what I hear and read about. I just am kind of a creature of habit and should probably try others but I do well with what I use. The only reason I do not branch out.

I hear Fritz is good but cannot really comment on it. And really all salts have good qualities IMHO.

There are lots of good salts on the market. It all depends on what your tank is doing for that salt. Tropic Marine is good balance. If your having troubles keepin DKH Up the instant ocean reef crystals. Find what your tank needs and match the salt to its needs. Less chasing it that way.

I think of salt as I do tomato sauce (some call it gravy). It all depends on what you were brought up on, and so that's the one you end up liking and using. And that particular brand of salt ends up being the "best" salt for you. That said, I did start with Instant Ocean Reef Crystals, but found swings in alk/calc too high, and switched to plain old Instant Ocean....the best salt for me!

As far as changing brands, just do it with your routine water changes, using the new salt. Just monitor your alk and calc (and mag), and adjust as needed to stay within your desired levels.

I used to use Fritz RPM but had trouble keeping my dkh up. I don't dose so that could be an issue as well. I recently switched to Fritz Redline and my numbers have been great. Dkh is in the high 8's now and calc and mag numbers are great as well.

I used reef crystals I didn’t like it that much because of the levels I don’t do regular WC only as needed I switched to Red Sea coral pro I like it much better as for levels but the salt does have a lot of little things when mixing you can see it’s not clean thinking of switching to fritz once it’s done to see how fritz it :)

Hit the LFS and see what they stock; availability and cost are the most important factors for me as all reputable brands produce a suitable environment for fish and corals. For me, it's Instant Ocean.
