Every mix is different but its generally 1/2 cup of salt per gallon. But again make sure you get a refractometer to measure your salinity to make sure it's at the level you want.

Absolutely! They all for the most part are the same, just make sure yours has ATC. This stands for Automatic Temperature Compensation. Basically saltwater at different temps will show different readings. An ATC refractometer automatically adjusts for temp differences.
