Salt?

This is "the" age old question since multiple salts became available in the hobby. You'll find that almost everybody will swear by the brand they are using.

Personally I use Reef Crystals. Its been around forever and works well for me. I might also be switching to Instant Ocean just because I'm running a fish only tank and it'll save me a few bucks without adding all the elements needed for a reef.

There are many good salts out there. People like them for different reasons. For price, seems a lot of the time both the Red Sea and Instant Ocean Reef crystals are on sale a lot and are very popular

OCeanic ( what I prefer and use) has excellent stats as it is a bit higher in Calcium than a lot of other brands, and had the right Magnesium level.

H2H has a salt that reviewed very well last year when I was at Macna, but it was a bit expensive. Same with SeaChem's Salinity (which I also like a lot).

Instant Ocean (not the reef crystals blend) is really more for a fish only tank.

I advise you too look at the labels for Calcium, PH, and Phosphate amounts at 1.025 for whatever your looking at. PO4 should be low, PH 8.0-8.2, and Calcium at least 440. The last thing you want to do is mix up a batch of water, and then have to start adding components to get it in line with your tank parameters.

Hope this helps!

thank you this is kinda of what i was looking for to determine what makes it good salt
