Saltgator's 240 Build

I've read 3 days is the magic number of lights out to get things in check. One more day dude! B

Salt I run my setup at 100psi. Membranes are cheap enough so if you suspect it being an issue than change it. They last a long time if you flush regularly. My tds in is currently 1700+ because I'm getting salt intrusion into my well. I get 26 after membrane so I get a great rejection rate. Using Dow film tec membrane. I also run my booster pump before the whole unit and not just before the membrane. .5 micron sediment than a tube of catalytic carbon than .5 micron carbon block. I have a dual DI setup and of course get zero tds water.

Really with 550 and a booster pump you should be able to get 2 tds after membrane and of course you should be at zero after DI.
Pete at aquafx is knowledgable and they have good prices on stuff. I just by my membrane from Amazon or BRS.

Let me know if you have any questions for me. Try boosting he pressure and also flush membrane for 15 min. See if you get a better reading.

This is my setup below

Also filmtec is rated to 150psi so 100is totally fine. I also have 75 per day setup 6stage from BRS.

Ryan, lol. I'll go do a 3 day again next week. Lol

Joe, I appreciate it. Probably gonna change the membrane just in case.

I've looked over pics, threads and reads. Leaning on calothrix. Might have to go h2o2 and see.

Couple more updates for me to track.
Ro without di was a solid 10 outgoing tonight. 491 coming in. I don't think my membrane is shot yet. This was all at 80 psi.

Started h2o2 tonight. Dosed 25mL with lights on. Gonna dose to see if this is dinos. Lights will be back off come Sunday to help the h2o2.

A buddy asked how my overflow looked (possibly full of algae). Surprisingly, not that bad. Aiptasia though.

Good plan. Did the algae come right back with lights on today?

RO numbers seem good, I agree about the membrane being ok

Well y'all, just decided to install another skimmer on my system. Now I'm running 2 big skimmers. My original is my swc 230 cone and now the 2nd is a 8 inch older octopus running on a oct 3000. So now my 55g sump has 2 skimmers, a return pump and that's all I can fit!
Just wanted to see how 2 skimmers respond to the bio load, plus the added heat from the pumps will be ok. I figured for the used price, 2 skimmers were the ticket for exporting nutrients compared to a pellet reactor (which I've tried and could keep the pellets tumbling longer than a week) or any other nutrient exporter.

Somewhat at bay. Been dosing peroxide. Just started the the lights out still dosing the peroxide. Gonna leave the lights off for 2 days. I'll get you a pic of the packed sump shortly, lol.

Lol. Maybe, ha ha. JD when you come down, lol. Btw, I'll be in Waynesville NC in mid July. My hit a lfs up in east TN

Lol. Moonshine.

Cool. When that time gets closer I'll hit up some friends and see where you should go while there. I am clueless as to what is overt there.

I figured so. Wife is planning country fest for next year so I'll be all over TN next year!

Try to work as a team! Lol. Both are working (pulling junk). Octopus is pic 1, obviously SWC is 2.
