Saltgator's 72x30x25/233g Build

I will. It'll be the mini reef of the big reef, lol. I'll post updates soon once I switch it over.

Well... after much talk with my wife, I'm gonna take a break from the hobby. Not planning on leaving, but not going to continue this build or any others. So much effort goes into providing the best for our oceans in a box that we become attached to everything from corals to fish to inverts. After several losses of my prized fish, I'm going to take time off and reevaluate. Might be 6 months to a year. I'll still be a part of the community for comments and concerns. Once salt runs through your veins, it never leaves.

Hey Brad I'm sorry to hear it but definitely understand. If it wasn't for all that I put into mine I would probably do the same - considering the economy how it is these days and freeing up personal time to spend with loved ones.... I'm just maintaining what I have.

Sorry to hear, but i'm sure you'll be back with a bigger and better plan : ) its tough to stay away for to long.

Thanks guys. I'm not planning on staying away too long but need to reevaluate hobbies and priorities. Starting fresh will be the best for me down the road.

I know it's been a Long time, still waiting to do floors then this build will start completely over. Qt'ing 2 fish at the moment that will be my center pieces and require me to build around them, but it's 2 dream fish. I've got a few corals still left and trying to fight Aiptasia too. Only a 50g breeder and 20g qt going atm.

Woohoo!!! Glad to hear! Too bad fluconazole wasn't known about back when you needed it :( That stuff did a terrific job getting rid of my bryopsis.

Want to see pics of you new fish!

Got a few aptasia myself. Didn't see them until the bry was gone...

I beat bry with h2o2 surprisingly, lol. My new are a pair of juvenile regal angels from Maldives.

My 2 juvenile Maldives regals. They tolerate each other very well with minimal chasing or bullying by the larger one. Super excited about these and already have them on frozen. Had them for a while so finally decided to share.

Happy Easter to all

Just received a message from the forum to update my build but... After I lost my regals and battled a never ending ich fight, I sold almost all equipment and livestock to better homes. Still have my black tang date of sale on my yearly calendar to remind me. Considering starting up again (the hobby lives within) and going with juvenile regals from captive breeding and a black long nose tang again.

Really considering a pond style this time. Been focused on work and building a program from within with large livestock and a opportunity to raise juvenile alligators.

Regardless, yall that may look at my thread I appreciate and hope to build something soon. Keep the passion alive and reef on.

Brad
