What is the soonest you have used Freshly mixed Saltwater?? AKA “Hot Batch.” How did you get it too the point of being usable? What were the results? Last month, I was doing my water changes, and absently minded dump Ed water down the drain, intended for transfer to my Quarantine Aquarium, leaving it half empty. I was able to pull enough water out of my displays, to get the HOB filter running. I’ve never had to use a Hot Batch. Just want to be prepared in the Future.

I use natural seawater now but when I mxed salt I would use it after about an hour of mixing it. That was a FOWLR tank back then but I never had any ill effects.

I would use that hour just to aerate it and match temperature as best as I could.

Depends on how vigorously it's being mixed I think to allow co2 equilibration (?). With a big pump I'd think an hour is sufficient (maybe even less)

Edit: big pump with high surface agitation/air exchange..

... 20-30 min after, good quality salt mixes up pretty fast

For me- 10-15 minutes. Assure fully mixed and dissolved and allow to settle to verify no sediment on bottom of container and proper temperature

Depends on brand, Aquaforest Reef salt mixes in 15 min and they say you can use it immediately and up to 5 days. Their probiotic salt can ONLY be used immediately. If you do that, your RODI should be aerated properly before.

I have used salt right after mixing.
If I only did a small batch, I didn't even heat it. 5 to10% I consider small batch but I have about a 40 gallon Rubbermaid sump.
I generally now mix overnight for use with my awc next day.
