Saltwater Disposal

So my only experience with fish are of the freshwater variety. I'm just getting into saltwater and haven't been able to find out about disposal. How are most people disposing of their water? I live in the city and connected to a sewer system, do you think there are any issues with disposing of saltwater into a sewer system?

I think there are probably a lot of things that go into a municipal waste facility that are a lot worse than salt water. Trust me we have seen them!

Down the drain here. However, all our sewers in this area of the country ends up in the ocean anyway, after removing solids.

I only change 5 gallons at a time so I pour it on the weeds that like to grow next to the garage.

Make sure you're not dumping your water in the sink with a garbage disposal. I wasn't thinking, did it for a few months, and well it stopped. I got the look from the wife. Spent that night and coral money installing a new disposal. Lol.

I've always put it down the drain. Ideally, if you have one of those plastic utility sinks use that. Even dumping a bucket in a toilet is fine, but stay away from any steel sinks. Even stainless won't appreciate the salt over time.

Mine goes down the driveway to the street where it evaporates, when its not raining anyway lol

Thanks for the tips, I'll probably just dump the water into the tub as I can just throw the hose in the tub and let it run.

I like to throw mine in my neighbors well manicured lawn...

Just kidding, I don't even have water in my tank yet, my wife's irises do love the nutrient rich freshwater once a week when I clean out my 30g.
