Hey guys hope you all are doing good.3 days ago i bough some fishes from store.i am not sure about their name but two of them are yellow tangs and other 2 are nice and big fishes.the problem is they are not eating at all.i tried giving them food that comes in bottles and also tried frozen shrimp that the store guy recommend me.they are active but just dont eating.any help will be really appreciated. Thanks

You'll need to provide us with more pertinent information.

1) what size tank?
2) how long has it been set up?
3) what kind of fish (I know you tried but it does matter)
4) any water parameters would be helpful as typically issues with fish eating, especially "easy" fish such as yellow tangs, can be attributed to poor water quality or "new tank syndrome". Ammonia is a top killer.

As a general overarching suggestion - live black worms, live brine, frozen foods soaked in selcon and garlic guard, and red nori are often nearly impossible to ignore.

Also be sure not to overfeed as this will quickly fowl the water and make matters worse. Only feed what fish will eat in 3 minutes max, IMO.

This is a catch 22 if your fish aren't eating. The uneaten food is quickly fowling the water.

I am new to hobby .rightnow there are 4 fishes in 30gal tank with few live rocks and heater and on the other hand i am looking for 75-90 gal tank and will set it up

I know this tank is small for them specially for these fishes.do you think this is the problem?

I start a tank a week Ago from scratch

My bet is you did not cycle yet need to slow down this hobby is a marathon not a sprint.

Can you test
Salinity
No2
No3
Ammonia
Phosphate

What type of water did you use

My tang love seaweed that i get from my local supermarket. Same stuff younwould use for sushi wraps

I use rodi water and salinity level is good.i adopt these fishes from my uncle and using the same water and live rocks he gave me but in a smaller tank.hopefully get my bigger tank tomorrow

What do you have for lighting and flow in the tank.
What is your temp at.
Sand or bare bottom tank

New tank may not be ready to use right away as it needs to cycle. Using live sand and established water cab help speed this up

Bought fish from a store 3 days ago or adobted from your uncle

It's fluorescent lighting

Using crushed corals

Using live rocks and water of established cycled tank

Righnow have two tank with 2 fishes each tank

Hopefully got my tank tomorrow but thanks alot for helping me out but my question is still same why they are not eating.just because tank is not fully setup or any other problem?

Tang like algee so i would try seaweed sheets cliped to the wall. Mine never eat the frozen shrimp i feed the other fish find out what they were eating from who ever you got them from.

As for the photo

I was refuring to the other 2 fish that you said are nice and big fish.

Would also help if we new test results. Just because a tank was established does not equal good water.

You have bigger problems than fish not eating. It's the tank is prob not cycled and they are stressed out. Solve that problem first and they'll probably start eating

Rub garlic powder on nori and mix it in frozen mysis as well in Rodi water they should start eating.
