Saltwater Mixing

Don't know definitively. Just seems like a good practice to at least swish it around before adding to the tank. Is stratification real?

I know that Red Sea doesn't recommend continued mixing. That's the only salt I've ever used. It does get agitated as it's pumped from my bin to the tank. And I do match the temp to tank temp. But after the salt is disolved, I shut off the pump

This is something I wasn't aware of. Why does the salt need to be agitated once it's already mixed? I use Red Sea Coral Pro and once it's mixed I shut off the pump. Usually use it the same day, but I have left it for days with just the heater running before I use it.

I believe it adds a bit of oxygen, normalizes PH, burns off any excess Co2 that might be in the water. However if you have high Co2 in your house and the water is less, you might think 2wice about excess mixing
