Saltwater, mixing

How long should I let my salt mix for? It’s instant ocean for now. Going to switch to Red Sea once I use up all this.

Hi fancy_fish101,

Welcome to the hobby! For Instant Ocean salt and most other brands, I would recommend mixing the salt for around 15 minutes with a pump to keep the water moving or by occasionally mixing the water yourself. To ensure that it is done mixing, take a clear glass and fill it with the freshly mixed saltwater. If you can see any specs of salt, keep mixing it. Additionally, make sure that their is no salt sitting on the bottom of the mixing container.

Just like any other mix . There are instructions on the packaging .

for best results . They are all different .
some say to mix 24hrs ,
Some require heating the water ,

ALWAYS: add salt to the water .

prepare enough rodi water for the volume you want . And slowly add salt to the water .
If the salt is too concentrated it will cause a precipitation
