Hi All,
My name is Stephenie and I was referred to this community by my husband who spends ALOT of time on this site. I have always been amazed by the beautiful creatures that live in the sea. Earlier this year we went to a local pet store and made our way to the fish room. My hubby started to ask our daughters what saltwater fish they liked, I didn't catch on until he said "what ones would you want to get?" I asked him what he was talking about since we don't have a saltwater aquarium and he proceeded to tell me that we do and he was going to need to drive 2 hour or so to go and get it. At first I was furious since I was afraid of how much he spent without consulting me, as many of you married people know its never a good idea to make expensive purchases without talking it over with your spouse. He said that he bought a 180 gallon full set up with fish for about $850. Honestly I knew it was a heck of a deal but all I could think of then was how expensive it would be to maintain and how much work it would be.
So here I am now months later, no longer upset and I have warmed up to having a large aquarium. My participation with our new tank is letting my husband know what fish I want , feeding our aquatic family, and watching our aquarium TV for hours out of the week. I never knew that owning a saltwater aquarium opened the door to a elite lifestyle, its neat to talk with all the other saltwater aquarium owners and find out what types of fish they have as well as their issues and ideas. I also want you all to know that my favorite creature in our tank is the Long Horned Cow fish who is growing amazingly well since he is now ich free! Please feel free to ask me any questions!
