Has anyone here ever owned or seen a saltwater paludarium?
I was wondering if it would be possible for me to try. I would imagine I'd need to divide the water section of the tank into the main saltwater section with a smaller freshwater section in the back corner where the water isn't actually visible, but would provide an area for terrestrial plants to grow in. If done correctly, the soil and fresh water will never come into contact with the saltwater, and vice versa, but to onlookers, it'd look like it's all part of the same ecosystem. I'd even put mangroves in but A: I don't know where to find them, and B: I hear they grow really really slowly.
My only concern would be salt creep that makes its way into the plant/soil section...
