Has anyone ever had a saltwater pond outside in Texas weather? If so how did you control the temperature.

Surely temp control will be challenging. There’s many organisms living in rock pools at the coast and they are used to temp swings. I would research this and try to get them for your pond.

I would think try looking into swimming pool heating/chilling equipment. It not being in direct sunlight will help a lot cause then it’s just ambient air temperature and keeping 10-20 degrees cooler (or a little more, not certain how hot it gets in your part of Texas).

I would definitely be concerned about evaporation though, especially if you have a large surface area and large summer/winter temp differences (in my part of Florida it gets down to the 30s during winter and just under 100 in the summer). But I guess you would be used to that with your koi pond, but keeping SP right could be a chore
